Worktrees, Files and Branches

Inspect another worktree’s uncommitted changes from the log, duplicate and rename a file in the sidebar, then create and check out a branch without leaving GitComet.

Steps shown in the video

Recorded on Linux. The shortcuts below match the recording.

  1. Select Worktree changes in the log to inspect the uncommitted files in a linked worktree without opening another tab.
  2. Use Alt+Down to step through the changes in the diff.
  3. Open the Files sidebar, select a file and press Ctrl+D to duplicate it. Rename the copy in place.
  4. Press Ctrl+P to open the command palette and choose the command to create a branch.
  5. Enter the new branch name with Checkout selected, then press Enter to create the branch and switch to it.
